What you get

A single digital file: a PDF poster, 12×18 inches at 300 DPI, generated from the Strava activities you selected and the framing, theme, colour and caption you chose. It is a download, not a physical print — we do not print or ship anything.

The file is available to download for 365 days after it is generated. Save your copy; we are not a storage service.

We also email you a download link, so a poster made on a phone or in a closed tab isn’t lost. That emailed link is deliberately short-lived (24 hours) because anyone holding it can download the file. When it expires your poster is still there — sign in with Strava and download it again.

What it costs

Nothing. This service is free to use — there is no payment, no subscription, and we never ask for card details.

To keep it that way we cap usage: each connected Strava account may generate one poster. Rendering a poster costs us real computing time and paid map data, so the cap is what makes a free service sustainable rather than an arbitrary restriction. If you reach it, the button simply stops working; nothing is charged and nothing is hidden from you.

If something is wrong

If your poster fails to generate, is corrupt, or does not match what you configured, email [email protected] with your order ID and we will re-render it without it counting against your limit. That is a genuine commitment, not a courtesy.

What is not a defect: the printed map showing slightly different street or label detail from the on-screen preview. The preview and the print are drawn by two different map engines; see the note on the customise page and in the FAQ below.

Preview versus printed file

The on-screen preview and the final PDF use different map data sources. We match the framing, colours, activity lines and caption position between them deliberately and precisely. What can still differ is the underlying map detail — road widths, which street names appear, POI density — and, because the poster is rendered at much higher resolution, fine text and label proportions may not be identical to the preview.

The preview is an accurate representation, not a pixel-exact proof. If that distinction matters to you, please do not order.

What you may do with the poster

The poster is for your personal, non-commercial use — print it, frame it, give it away. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or use it commercially. The underlying map data is licensed from OpenStreetMap contributors and Mapbox, and the credit line printed on the poster must remain intact; removing it would breach their licences, not ours.

Your activity data remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.

Availability

This service depends on Strava and Mapbox. If any of them are unavailable, poster generation may be delayed or temporarily impossible.

Heatmapster is an independent service. It is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Strava, Inc. “Strava” is a trademark of Strava, Inc., used here only to identify the source of the data with permission under their API terms.

Liability

We are liable for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and for anything that cannot be excluded by law — including your statutory consumer rights. Beyond that, and because this service is provided free of charge, our liability for any other loss is limited to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
